Speaker's Bio
Jim Lamont
Jim Lamont is a photographer and custom photographic printmaker who founded PeregrinePrints in 2003, a company dedicated to working with photographers to make fine art quality prints at affordable prices. As an educator Jim has been teaching intermediate and advanced photographic printmaking to private students and with the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO) since 2007.
Prints of Jim’s images are currently in private and corporate collections across North America and Australia. Jim’s images are also on display in Canadian embassies and consulates around the world.
In 2022 one of Jim’s photographs tied for the title The 2022 Natural Landscape Photograph of the Year. Also, in 2022 one of Jim’s panoramas received a Silver Award in Epson’s International Panorama Contest. Many of Jim’s other awards and a list of his numerous exhibitions and press can be found on his website.
Jim’s primary photographic interest for many years has been the rediscovery of the sublime in the context of global climate change.
