Basic Training for New Judges Online

Reminder!

Part 1 of Basic Training for New Judges — the Introduction to Judging Course — is open for registration through the CAPA Learning Centre.
The Introduction to Judging Course costs $185 — with a 35% discount for CAPA individual members! A good reason to join CAPA BEFORE registering for the course.

Part 2 of Basic Training for New Judges — the Judging Practice Workshop — two workshops have been completed and were well received. The next workshop will be in French and is scheduled for May 02. Another English workshop is being planned for later this spring. Watch for dates in the May Newsletter or visit the CAPA Learning Centre. These workshops are only available to those who have competed the Introduction to Judging Course.


Judge Certification Program

Congratulations to Dixie Allen who recently completed the Judge Certification Program and qualified as a CAPA Certified Judge. You will find contact information for Dixie on the National Judges List.

 

National Judges List

The National Judges List is available for CAPA Clubs to download from our website by logging in and going to Members > National Judges List. The next update will be in early June.

Education Committee April 2026 News

CAPA Education Committee

The CAPA Education Committee is excited to welcome Scott Simons to the committee.

Scott has been a member of Niagara Association of Photographic Art for 42 years. Scott was the president for the last 6 years and looking forward to assuming the role of Past President.

He comes to the committee as a certified judge and has a wealth of experience helping clubs in his area.

Scott has won numerous awards throughout his photographic journey and recently won the Individual Nature, Ontario Zone Gold Medals in CAPA and recently attained the ACAPA distinction.


We are excited to have Scott join the team and look forward to working with him on future projects for CAPA.

Vaudreuil-Dorion Photo Club – April 2026 – Upcoming Event

A Window on Our Perspectives — Photo Exhibition

The Vaudreuil-Dorion Photo Club presents its annual exhibition, “A Window on Our Perspectives,” which will be on display at the Vaudreuil-Dorion Municipal Centre from May 1 to October 30, 2026.

This exhibition showcases the unique perspectives of photographers through a selection of images created by club members. Each work acts as a window onto a personal vision of the world, revealing moments, scenes, and perspectives captured by the lens. The diversity of subjects presented allows visitors to discover different viewpoints and approaches to photography, while inviting them to see their surroundings in a new light.

The public is invited to discover this exhibition and explore these multiple photographic perspectives presented at the Municipal Centre.
