Elevate Your Craft on Canada’s Premier Photographic Stage
At CAPA, our competitions serve as the premier national platform for photographers to showcase their vision and technical skill. By participating, you are joining a coast-to-coast community that sets the standard for photography in Canada. These competitions offer a strategic way to benchmark your work against top national standards, giving you a true sense of where your art stands on a professional stage. Unlike other associations, CAPA offers members the opportunity to compete as a benefit of membership, with no additional fees.
We pride ourselves on an ever-evolving variety of themes—ranging from Nature and Landscape to the cutting edge of Creative, Abstract, and Altered Reality—ensuring there is always a fresh category to challenge your creativity.
Our goal is to ensure that every submission is not just a chance to win, but a valuable step forward in your photographic journey.

Lance Gitter, FCAPA
In 2016, Lance established CAPA’s online submission and judging platform, known as “EntryWizard,” and continues to support CAPA’s competition program as the organization’s EntryWizard Specialist.
A well-known photographer in the Greater Toronto Area, Lance is a nationally certified CAPA judge and has been an accredited judge since 2002 with the Greater Toronto Council of Camera Clubs (GTCCC), now known as the Ontario Council of Camera Clubs (O3C). In 2016, the GTCCC recognized his years of dedication and service by presenting him with its inaugural Service Recognition Award.
Lance is an honorary life member of both the Richmond Hill Camera Club and the Toronto Digital Photography Club. An award-winning photographer in both still photography and photo essay production, Lance enjoys exploring all genres of photography. His true passion, however, is creativity—the ability to see and present the world in unique and imaginative ways.
