In April 2022, the CAPA Board approved the first increase in membership fees since 2013. The fees have been the same for almost ten years.
During that time, more benefits were added to CAPA membership, including the new Speaker Series, the monthly newsletter, enhanced and more accessible website, and social media pages for members to engage in the photographic community. CAPA continues to offer a wide variety of competitions exclusively for CAPA members and clubs, at no charge.
At the same time, costs have increased in all areas, but especially for printing and distributing the much-loved Canadian Camera Magazine. Even with all that is offered to members today, CAPA still remains entirely volunteer-run with no outside funding. Your volunteers work very hard to bring you the best membership experience CAPA can offer.
You are getting this notice now so that there is some time before the increase takes effect. Members who renew before January 1, 2023, even members who renew early, will have an additional full year of membership at the old rate. This is a one-time opportunity to get your membership renewed early at the old rate before the clock strikes midnight on December 31st.
Here are the new rates as of January 1, 2023:
- Individual Memberships: $75
- Family Memberships: $95
- International Memberships: $60
- International US Memberships: $85
- Youth Memberships: $30
- Libraries, Schools & Associations: $50
- Small, Medium & Large Clubs: no increase ($65, $100 & $130)
