Quebec Zone District Rep Denis Landry
Denis Landry – FR

It was at the age of 8 that my father introduced me to photography. From the age of 12, I produced photographic reports on businesses in the Quebec City region. While in high school, I worked as a school photographer for the student newspaper. Then, installing my personal darkroom at home, which I still use for the development of my films, in different formats, 35mm, 6×6, 6×7. Added to this is digital photography, with computer software for image processing. Graduated from the “Famous Photographer’s Course” school in 1983, and “NA Photographer Fellow” in 2011, I continue my journey with the courses offered at the Magnum Agency, in street photography.
Always passionate about photography, it was in 2012 that I founded the Pays-d’En-Haut Photo Club, located in the Laurentians, a club that I still chair today.

Quebec Zone District Rep Francine Raymond
Francine Raymond – FR
Francine Raymond – EN
Interested in photography since my teenage years, I got my first film camera around the age of 18. I haven’t lost that passion since. In the 1980s, I became a member of the Évasion photo club in St-Bruno, a suburb of Montreal. This is where I improved my knowledge of black and white photography as well as darkroom work. For personal reasons, I left the club only to return in 2009. Discovering digital for the first time, I realized that two of my passions fit together perfectly; computer and photography. A pure happiness! For me, photography is an opportunity to let my creativity run free. Taking pictures and post-processing give me equal pleasure and I’m always on the lookout for something new. President of the club for several years, I nurture my passion and take great pleasure in helping people who want to take pictures.

Pacific Zone District Rep Tanner Sussi
District Rep. Tanner Sussi – Lower Mainland, Pacific Zone
Tanner Sussi is our newest District Representative for the Lower Mainland in the Pacific Zone.
Tanner’s photographic career ideas were put on hold for 20 years while her career with the government of Canada kept her busy. During this time she was very active, enjoying everything the outdoors offered. In 2014 she took early retirement due to an injury and was still able to enjoy walking. Slowing to this pace, Tanner noticed many beautiful things and bought a digital camera to capture them. Now her walks were even more interesting and she returned to her original interest in photography that had spawned earlier.
Tanner joined a Facebook group in order to learn digital processing. Her progress with all things digital surged leading her to join the Surrey and Langley Photography clubs, where she began to participate in competitions and displaying prints in art galleries.
In 2018 Tanner took the CAPA judging course and has recently completed the requirements to become a Certified CAPA judge.
Pacific Zone District Rep Janet Slater
Janet Slater is an avid photographer, who is continually working to improve and challenge herself to capture colour and composition that reflects both beauty and a vignette of thought and emotion.
Janet’s photography journey began in 2013 with the gift of her first DSLR. With little background in photography but a lifetime of interest in creating beauty through her numerous craft hobbies, she took courses in both pre and post production to learn the technical aspects of photography so that she could properly focus her artistic inspiration. She joined the Langley Camera Club in 2014 and used the monthly photo challenges as a vehicle to get feedback on how to improve both her technique and composition. Janet also volunteered her time to the club, assisting in various positions. She later became a member of CAPA and her photo submissions have won numerous awards and a colour printer. Her passion for photography covers many genres including long exposure, architecture, b+w, still life, infrared and landscape. Janet uses her technical skills in post-processing and a keen eye for timing and composition to focus her artistic inspiration while constantly evolving through experimentation and researching different styles.
In 2018, Janet relocated to the Sunshine Coast (Sechelt) and became a member of the Sunshine Coast Camera Club, quickly becoming part of the executive. In Sept, 2018 she took on the role of the CAPA District Representative for the Sunshine Coast district.
District Rep for Newfoundland and Labrador Michael Winsor
I live in St. John’s, NL, and a member of Camera 35.
I have always enjoyed photographing landscapes under the night sky or during blue hour. However, I find that wildlife has really captured my imagination over the past couple years. I am sure a part of that is because Newfoundland has the largest gathering of humpback whales every summer.
I have been an individual and club member with CAPA now for over 5 years and it is great to be a part of an association that showcases the best places in our country. Only through sharing images, can we broaden our horizons to what the rest of the country has to offer.

Atlantic Zone District Rep Tom Gallant
Atlantic Zone District Representative
I am a member of the Scotsburn Northumberland Amateur Photographic Society (S.N.A.P.S.) from Pictou County, Nova Scotia. I moved here four years ago from Manitoba after I retired as an administrator of a K to 12 school. While in Manitoba, I, along with a local doctor, started a Photography club there, and when I arrived here, I introduced SNAPS to CAPA. Then took the Judging Course in Moncton in 2018. Great course!
Throughout my long photographic career, I photographed weddings, took portraits and shot modelling portfolios. Over the past 20 years, I’ve photographed mainly landscapes, seascapes, mostly in NL with Icebergs and the amazing cliffs, and wildlife.
I also edit, print and frame my own work. As well, I love teaching photography. As a result, I’m looking forward to working with the many talented photographers both at CAPA and SNAPS. Because of the wealth of talent with CAPA and here in Nova Scotia, I am learning all the time, and being a life-long learner, this is ideal. A win, win for me!
