Title: “Ice Climbers”
This image of Ice Climbers was taken at Matanuska Glacier, close to Anchorage, Alaska. It is one of the few glaciers upon which one can actually walk. On this very cloudy day, low-lying clouds partially blocked the mountain range behind the glacier. The sun popped out just long enough to provide a dramatic light on the scene. The glacial ice appears blue because it absorbs all colours of the visible spectrum, except the blue, which it transmits.
